What is an Aesthetician?
Aestheticians are skin care specialists. They are not physicians,
but as trained specialists, aestheticians provide preventative
care for skin and offer treatments to keep skin healthy and attractive.
What services do they provide?
They provide a variety of services such as chemical peels, microdermabrasions,
laser hair removal, makeup application, consultations for therapeutic
and corrective skin care products.
What does their training and licensing involve?
The Texas Cosmetology Commission requires 600 hours of both theory
and practice of all pertinent subjects dealing with skin care.
To become licensed each aesthetician must have completed the class
hours, as well as passed the Texas State Board exams. In addition
to their classroom training and their board licensing, our aestheticians
also receive further training, as well as ongoing oversight, from
our physicians.
